Eiffel Tower

It’s a new day and I walk out to the street and scream, literally scream:
– GOOD MORNING PARIS!
They laugh and one or another head turns to see “that crazy girl screaming”.

My friend’s flat is within walking distance from the famous EiffelTower. We are so excited that we walk very fast, as if there wasn’t going to be time enough to visit it.

The big garden around the tower is the perfect place to take a picture with the tower!

Eiffel TowerThe closer we get, the bigger it seems. When I stand right under the Eiffel Tower, the first floor looks much higher!

Let’s buy the tickets: 3,50€ is how much to go up to the 2nd level, plus 5€ to go up in the elevator to the 3rd level, the top!

Here we go…

Eiffel TowerOn the second level we catch the elevator, cross the little room and go up the last bit of stairs!

AND WE ARE AT THE TOP, 276 meters high! WOWw!

People look like dots in the streets, cars look like toys. There is a bride and the groom taking pictures in the gardens, well we can only distinguish because of the white dress! The view is breathtaking…

Eiffel TowerEiffel TowerEiffel TowerFor some reason I thought there was a restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower, but the space is only big enough for a little bar that sells champagne (each glass coast between 10 and 15€) and a corridor to walk around. (The restaurant is located on the 2nd level.)

It is hard to picture Paris without an Eiffel Tower, but this tower was only built in 1889, as an entrance for the World’s Fair, by Gustave Eiffel.

I wonder how many man have gone down on their knees, right in this place, to ask THE question?! In my opinion, the Eiffel Tower is more romantic when seen from a hotel room, then from up here with all the tourists.

When we left the tower, 3h had passed since we started climbing it.
Time to look for another Creperie!

…………………………………………………………………

When the night falls in the city, we returned to look at the lights of the Eiffel Tower.

It’s midnight. The tower looks like is on fire, shining so bright! And then it changes to twinkling blue lights, the happy-hour as the french call it!

At 1am all the lights turn off and the city falls asleep.

Good night Paris!
